A must-visit when you're on Whidbey Island, Bayleaf is a wonderful shop selling fine imported and domestic wines, artisan cheeses, locally-produced bread and produce, and a variety of guormet groceries including fine olive oils and balsamic vinegars, imported spices and sauces, fresh and imported pasta, and much much more. You can have them put together a take-away plate of great cheeses, deli meats, and antipasti lice kalamata olives, cornichons, or whatever you like - with a bottle of wine you have a great picnic meal to enjoy at one of the outside tables or down at the scenic Coupeville wharf. The address given above is wrong - they've moved to a much larger location about a block away. Just opened a new shop in Oak Harbor too - see their website for details.
Pros: Great wine and cheese, and imported delicacies you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else.
Cons: Can't afford to buy the whole store!
